BUZ INVESTORS  ASX 200 fell on Friday  Bourses in Australia and New Zealand fell on Friday June 30th, joining a global slump in equities and completely erasing all gains made in the previous trading session. The ASX 200 shed 96.6 points, or 1.7 percent, to 5721.5 but still managed to book slight gains for the week. Property, healthcare and industrials dragged the index lower despite the Aussie Dollar reaching a 4-month high mid-session. The big four banks were all down between 1 percent and 1.5 percent each while Fairfax Media and BT Investment Management led the decliners to shed 8.3 percent and 7.7 percent respectively. The broader All Ordinaries lost 91.9 points, or 1.6 percent to 5764. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s NZX 50 was down 74 points, or 1 percent, to 7611. Historically, the Australia S&P/ASX 200 Stock Market Index reached an all time high of 6828.70 in November of 2007 and a record low of 1358.50 in November of 1992

The ASX has shed around $28 billion in value as local investors join global markets in a retreat from risky assets.

On Friday’s close the ASX200 had fallen 1.7 per cent to 5,721 points, giving up all the gains – and more – made in the previous two days of solid buying.

The selling was across all sectors with the big banks all down between 1 per cent and 1.5 per cent.

The miners also lost ground despite the iron ore price continuing to rally.

BUZ INVESTORS Nike to cut approximately 2%  “Nike’s leadership and organizational changes will streamline and speed up strategic execution,” the retailer said in a statement Thursday, explaining plans of how Nike will also change the reporting divisions of its company.

“The changes are … expected to result in an overall reduction of approximately 2 percent of the company’s global workforce,” Nike said.

As part of the organizational changes, about 1,400 employees are expected to lose their jobs. Nike had 70,700 employees as of May 31, 2016.

Shares of Nike’s stock were falling more than 2 percent Thursday morning following this announcement.

NIKE, Inc. (NYSE: NKE) today introduced the Consumer Direct Offense, a new company alignment that allows Nike to better serve the consumer personally, at scale. Leveraging the power of digital, Nike will drive growth—by accelerating innovation and product creation, moving even closer to the consumer through Key Cities, and deepening one-to-one connections.

Consumer-focused Growth

Trevor Edwards, President of the NIKE Brand, will drive the Consumer Direct Offense through integrated category, geography, marketplace, product, merchandising, digital, and direct-to-consumer teams.

In the new alignment, the company will drive growth by deeply serving consumers in 12 key cities, across 10 key countries: New YorkLondon,ShanghaiBeijingLos AngelesTokyoParisBerlinMexico CityBarcelonaSeoul, and Milan. These key cities and countries are expected to represent over 80 percent of Nike’s projected growth through 2020.

Nike is moving closer to the consumer—creating a local business, on a global scale. To improve efficiency, all key cities and countries are supported by a simplified geography structure, changing from six to four—comprised of North AmericaEuropeMiddle East and Africa (EMEA)Greater China; and Asia Pacific and Latin America (APLA). The leaders of the newly-formed geographies are: Tom Peddie VP/GM of North America, Bert Hoyt VP/GM of EMEA, Angela Dong VP/GM of Greater China, and Ann Hebert VP/GM of APLA.

As such, financial results for the NIKE Brand will be reported based on these four operating segments beginning in fiscal 2018.

The geography leaders will report to Elliott Hill, President of Geographies and Integrated Marketplace.

Nike’s Triple Double

The Consumer Direct Offense is fueled by Nike’s Triple Double strategy: 2X Innovation, 2X Speed and 2X Direct connections with consumers.

To double innovation, Nike will accelerate the impact and cadence of new innovation platforms. As an example, over the past few months, Nike launched a cushioning revolution, featuring three new groundbreaking platforms: ZoomX, Air VaporMax and Nike React.
